New baby bedding!!

As soon as we found out we were having another baby boy I started shopping online for bedding.  I have all the necessary boy items because of Isaac but I really want this baby to have his own stuff.  I found this adorable bedding online at overstock.  I have to give them a shout out.  Super easy to order.  7% off since it was my first order, shipped less than 24 hours after I placed the order and then the day after I ordered it they sent me a 10% off coupon.  They definitely know how to do business.  There are so many accessories that match the bedding (I want the hamper and lampshade SO BAD!) so the 10% off coupon will probably be used soon.

Check it out and let me know what you think!

I think all my posts are titled "Been awhile"

Well, it's "been awhile".  We've just been busy!!  March was a blur.  Every Saturday booked with parties and a week long work trip.  We do have some super exciting news though.  We're having another baby boy!!  Very excited to be adding to the family a sweet boy and little brother for Isaac.  He's pretty excited despite not understanding what really is happening.  I'm hoping to start posting more regularly, especially with new finds on baby products.

New product review

So I love to share products that I find are actually good.  Our bath towels get washed ALOT!  However, to me they always have a "wet" or even mildew-ish smell, even straight out of the dryer.  It drives me nuts and makes me self conscience when guests use them.  So I tried Downy Unstopables.  It is great!  We've used the "fresh" scent and it makes my towels smell fresh and clean.  I love using it on my sheets too because it's not too overwhelming of a smell.  I think I may buy the "lush" scent as well.  Easy to use, I don't even use a whole cap full, just a about half and you dump them on to of the dirty clothes before washing.  Also, we have an HE washer and it works.

Valentine's Day

So, I just wanted to share a pretty picture.  Dylan got me beautiful roses and chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day.  The roses are unbelievable!!  They bloomed immediately and have stayed big and open.  They look fake to me!

Happy New Year (even though February is almost over)

The new year has brought many changes for us.  Busy, busy, busy.  Getting back after the holidays and back in the swing of things was hard.  We've been through some fun and crazy things since the first of the year.
One super fun thing we've been doing is UT men's basketball games.  We have so much fun and since I'm a creature of habit I love knowing where we'll sit, what it will be like, and who we'll be sitting by.  Isaac had a BLAST!  Every game he kept saying how he wanted to play.  (I hope he does!)  We're definitely doing it next year.
Another big change was my job.  Kind of weird because last January I changed jobs too.  This one I'm really having to trust God.  It is a sales position with a smaller company based out of Killeen.  I'll be trying to create new commercial business in the Austin area.  I go through stages of "I can do this" to "will this actually work?"  feelings on a daily basis.  Dylan has been really supportive which helps.
Then Isaac broke me into mommyhood again.  Being a mom of a boy makes you tough in general.  Burps and poots are hilarious in my house and the pull my finger game could go on for an hour.  He's a climber and loves to jump so it's only natural that he would fracture his foot.  Oddly enough it happened when he was just running around the house.  So we had a very busy Monday after that.  His doctor, followed by x-rays, then off to the Orthopedis for a cast.  Having the cast on was far more of a pain for us.  A little hard to keep a cast on a 2 1/2 yr old's foot clean and dry.  Since he loves baths and is prone to puddle jumping we were a little stressed.  Happy to report it's finally off and we're back to "normal" life.

Totally wanted to meet them, when they got close, he locked up in shyness.

Happy Holidays!!!

I am so excited Thanksgiving and Christmas are here already.  This year for Thanksgiving we kept it simple.  My brother came to stay with us and we all went to Cracker Barrel for lunch.  It was so cheap!!!  All 4 of us ate for $27 plus tip and it was good!  When Thanksgiving comes that means Black Friday. I love the excitement of deals and midnight shopping.  This year I took a 3 hour nap got up and out the door at 10:45pm.  My first stop was Walmart.  I knew it would be crazy but underestimated the economy and it's influence on deal shopping.  Everything I wanted from Walmart was sold out.  I was however able to call my good friend Kristen because she was at another Walmart.  She was able to pick up a few things I wanted to buy for Isaac there and I was so thankful.  I headed over to check out Target and possibly get in line.  The lines was so long that based on Walmart, I knew it wasn't probably worth it to attempt to get the few things I wanted.  Friday late morning I ventured out alone and I feel like I did really good.
I found this at Ross for $12.99!!  So many things inside!!  Isaac will love this.

Finally bought one of these!!  I've been wanting one for years and I loved putting everything into it.
My front door.  This is the first wreath I've ever made and it was really fun.  I'd love to make more but don't want to spend the money and I don't really have any place for another one.

The closest thing I have to a mantel.  I added mesh to my garland and I got the two white/red trees at Hobby Lobby for  less than $10 for both.
Our tree.  Dylan and I have had this tree with ornaments and lights for 6 Christmas' and we got it from Big Lots.

Back again...

It's been months since I blogged and it's mostly because I didn't know what I wanted to continue my blog like.  I didn't want to blog about my family much anymore but didn't know how to share without over sharing.  Things have been fun and busy!!  Basically, September and October were a blur.  I've been anxiously awaiting the holidays and I'm so happy they are here.
In November, my friend Jill and I hosted a baby shower for our friend Kristen.  Thanks to pintrest we had many super cute ideas for it.  We chose the theme milk and cookies and since she is expecting her second boy we called it a "sprinkle".  Here are some pictures from it.
The set up was inspired by many different ideas.  Keeping it clean and simple but pretty were our goals.

Favor bags - guest filled their bags with cookies made by Jill and myself
