It's because of this salsa!! I am so in love with it! I never snack on chips and salsa even when I'm at Mexican restaurants but I can eat a whole bag of chips with this. It's made in Austin and pretty much only sold locally. I get it at HEB in the produce dept. Seriously check it out but don't say I didn't warn you.

My new job - Update
I had a wonderful first week at FMG. Everyone has been very nice. They all keep apologizing because they are all busy and can't sit down with me. I love that I'm coming into a busy place. I've already attempted some projects and gone to meetings. I was allowed to choose my hours (which is amazing) and I will work from 7:30am - 4:30pm. It is so wonderful!! My commute is also great, an average of 25 min. The best part of everything is that I have now gain an entire hour each evening with Isaac. I feel so lucky and way less stressed now that I'm not sitting in traffic, rushing home, dinner and then bed. I know all work places have negatives and I am not ignorant that I will be super stressed sometimes but being closer to Isaac and home will really enhance my quality of life.
Using up what I've got...
I have a new year's resolution that technically started in November. I'm using the Dave Ramsey method on my body creams. I noticed that over the years I have been collecting random bottles and tubes of lotion. I also receive them as gifts because people know that I like to buy them. Dave Ramsey says to pay off debt you should start with the smallest balances so you can compound payments and feel the success of paying of balances. So, I am using all of my lotion, not allowing myself to buy any more until it's all gone. I'm starting with the travel sizes and using them up. I have used up several and it makes me feel good to throw away empty bottles and clear out the space from under my sink.

Juno baby!
A few weeks ago my good friend Kristen sent me a link to receive a baby learning video for free. I sign up to receive everything free even if I don't think I'll use it. I mean, it's free! We received the Juno Baby dvd a couple of days ago. Isaac loves it and it is super cute!! I highly recommend it. Also, it is a lot more entertaining to me than the weird singing babies. Here's a little clip. He loves to sing the "chick boom" part.
Isaac's new shoes...
I couldn't resist!!! These are too cute. I got them at Ross for $10! This is his first pair with laces so he already pulls at them. He even tried to chew on them which was so weird.

My week off so far...
I am taking this whole week off and so far it's been so great. It has kind of reminded me of maternity leave without the middle of the night feedings. I had a lot of expectations for this week and it's gone somewhat the way I had hoped.
Monday I was able to clean out all of the clothes I have been meaning to donate. I also went through Isaac's clothes and found a small amount that I know I don't want. As I was going through my clothes I realized a lot are still in decent condition. I picked a bag of stuff out and headed to Plato's Closet. Like most people I thought they'd buy all of it, why wouldn't they? :) They actually bought 7 items for $20. Since I was just going to drop them off at The Salvation Army, making an unexpected $20 was still awesome. Just FYI, they told me they are looking to buy boots, sandals and summer shorts.
Tuesday did not happen at all as I thought. On Friday I got the reminder call about Isaac's 18 month check up on Tuesday. I had completely forgotten and thank goodness it was this week while I'm off. His check up went well. He really loves his doctor and doesn't mind the check up. However, this is the first time he's remembered the nurses. The nurse that has always given him his shots came in and he freaked. He tried to run, hide behind my legs. Poor thing was crying and screaming "dadda, dadda". It was totally pitiful. He got one in each leg and is now old enough to look at me and point to his "owwie". He slept for two hours after that which was the only time I had all day to get anything done. I was able to really start organizing my closet and drawers. Since I had only a short time my closet and room look worse than when I began. I'm looking forward to finishing the rest tomorrow.
Wow this week is almost half over already!! I'm so glad I took this time.

These are a few of my favorite things...
I always find it interesting to know what products people use or are addicted to. There are many products that help me become "camera ready". Here are some of my favorites that I swear by.
Suave #8 hairspray. It has the perfect amount of hold. I'm also just addicted to the even spray of aerosol. I literally go through about 1 can a month.
Another great Suave product that I have literally seen make my hair healthier. I don't wash my hair everyday because of how much I flat iron. This product keeps my hair from getting too greasy over two days but more importantly keeps it from all breaking off. I've tried other shampoos and conditioners but my ends just break off. And seriously, it costs about $4 for the the shampoo and conditioner which is so awesome.
Covergirl Lash blast in very black. This is one of my favorite drug store items. It gives a great amount of volume because I like when my lashes look long but LOVE it when they are thick.
Olay Ribbons body wash is better than any other body wash out there. It is so moisturizing that I actually emailed them to say how awesome it is. I am terrible about using body creams but I guess that's because I've never had to with this. Even when I was pregnant my skin was never itchy. The pink is my favorite but I'll get the purple in a pinch.
Mary Kay Black black eyeliner. I will never, ever use another kind of eye liner. This goes on perfectly, never smudges and stays on all day. I always buy two at a time because I cannot be without it. This is where you can get some, my friend Bonnie Quarterman.

Bare Minerals is my all over face makeup. I have been using it for about 1 1/2 years and I've been very happy with it. It was definitely hard for me to change over from Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation (which I still absolutely love) but I felt like I just needed a more natural, easier look. It takes no time to put this on in the morning and looks great after a touch up in the evening.
This is the product I would like to be buried with. I have two just in case. I HAVE to have some color on my lips and this is perfect. It actually adjusts to your body temp and how much you rub your lips together affects the amount of pink that comes out. It also has lip gloss shine without the sticky, getting all over the place problems other lip glosses can have. It stays on much longer than any other gloss I've found. Out of the entire store of Sephora (and I've tried most of the products) this is the best one they have.
Please share any products that you love because it's always fun to find out and explore good products that you didn't know where out there.

A new job!!!
I am so excited that I have a new job!! For awhile I've been feeling like I needed a change in my career. I started looking and realized how even more important it was to get some more experience. It's a wonderful feeling to be starting the year with a new job. I will continue working as a designer for the Austin Haworth dealer, FMG. I will be one of three designers working with sales. FMG is a a lot closer to my house. My current commute is at least 45 min of stop and go. My new commute will be around 20 min and less stressful. This will making dropping Isaac off and picking him up much easier. I am so thankful to be blessed not only with a good job but that I was able find something that works better for my family.

Singing babies...
Isaac absolutely loves his singing babies video. At least once an hour he walks up to the PS3 points at it and says, "babies?". He could watch it over and over. Honestly I am so happy we do have something that he loves, it's only about 20 min. long and it really relaxes him so it's good before bed. However, it's really bad quality and all around kind of creepy. The babies have enlarged eyes and singing mouths. They sing all the classic (even some I have no idea where they came from) and Isaac just claps and dances. I found a portion of it on you tube. Enjoy... I think.
I heart flash mobs...
I seriously love to watch flash mob videos. They are so fun and I'd give anything to be a part of one. Here's the latest one I found. A wedding. It is so cute, I totally teared up.

A Christmas present to myself...
This is my Christmas present to myself. I've been wanting this hall runner forever!! We desperately needed some color and a rug. I got this at Target. Naturally it makes me want to buy 50 more accessories to enhance the hall but we'll get there eventually.
